Further quality parameters

Proficiency Testing

For over 10 years, we have successfully participated in the GEDNAP (German DNA Profiling) proficiency testing program of the German Society for Legal Medicine (DGRM). This external quality control process is documented by the GEDNAP certificates. All participants receive three reference samples and four artificially created traces for analysis. They are required to solve a case that could arise in daily practice. This involves the presentation of all marker systems, the identification and evaluation of mixed profiles, and the assignment of comparison profiles.

We participate annually in proficiency testing programs of the German Society for Parentage Testing (DGAB, since 2004) and the English Speaking Working Group of the International Society for Forensic Genetics (ISFG, since 2006).

Additional Accreditations and certifications

Accreditation by the UK Ministry of Justice to conduct court-ordered paternity tests ("Eurofins Medigenomix has been accredited by the Ministry of Justice as a body that may carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969").

Therefore, we continuously review our processes, seek more sustainable alternatives, and optimize our methods to constantly reduce water and chemical consumption and the amount of waste.
